The Thai word 'Tom' refers to soups that are usually flavoured with galangal, lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. These aromatics are left in the soup after cooking.

• Tom Yum Gung
  The most famous of Thai soups. This hot and sour tiger prawn soup is intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and chilli. It is served traditionally, without coconut milk.
• Tom Yum Gai
  Hot and sour chicken soup intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and chilli. It is served traditionally, without coconut milk.
• Tom Yum Hed (V)
  Hot and sour mushroom soup intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and chilli. It is served traditionally, without coconut milk.
• Tom Kha Gai
  This Thai soup is rich with coconut milk and intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves. It is traditionally served with chicken.
• Tom Kha Gung
  Rich coconut milk Tiger prawn soup intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves.
• Tom Kha Hed (V)
  Rich coconut milk mushroom soup intensely flavoured with galangal, lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves.
• Poh Taek
  "Thai Fisherman soup". Mixed seafood in a spicy hot and sour soup flavoured with mushroom, galangal, lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaf and chilli.
